Forever I wish

Little john asked me this morning "daddy where is mommy?"
All I said was "visiting someone very special."
I couldn't say "your mommy died yesterday at work and isn't coming back."
Forever I wish, I could have told them the truth.

Later that night I heard on the news that they found another body.
A mother of 3 beautiful children and that mother was my wife.
When they found her I just began to cry.
Forever I wish, that she didn't go to work that day in the World Trade Center.

The next day I was sitting on the front porch watching at my 3 little children play.
I realized that I had to tell my children about their mother.
And when I did they just started crying.
Forever I wish, that I could have said goodbye one last time.

My wife was in the south tower on the 100th floor and she didn't have a chance to run.
When those planes hit the buildings I just started praying for everybody on the planes and in the buildings.
September 11th was the day from hell.
Forever I wish, that day never happened.

Later that night little john said to me "I know where mommy is"
And I said " where?"
And he said " visiting someone very special…God"

I wish there would be peace.
I wish there would be no violence.
Forever I wish.
